This is our first time tasting a Pinot Noir from Duckhorn's Decoy label. We've tasted and reviewed much of the lineup at Costco over the years, and there always seems to be at least one Decoy bottle around every time we visit a warehouse.
This includes the more recent Paso Robles Cabernet, a Brut sparkling cuvee, and the staple Sauvignon Blanc.
This Pinot Noir comes from California. We poked around online but didn't find much about the source of the grapes beyond that. Decoy does make a "Limited Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir" for around $30 we'd love to try. Hopefully that appears in the Costco rotation.

Retail price on this bottle is $25, and Costco is offering it for $17.99 so a healthy discount vs retail; online we see this bottle selling around the $18-$20 range, in line with Costco's price.
This wine pours a medium ruby in the glass with earthy aromas of red and dark fruit; it is medium bodied, silky mouthfeel; flavors of black cherry, plum and raspberry; touch of peppery spice in the finish; needed some air to open.

Duckhorn bills their Decoy wines as intended for every day drinking, and that's exactly what this one is built for.
It's a good buy but if you're looking for Pinot deals, the recently reviewed Clos de Napa Reserve Pinot on sale for $13 might be a (slightly) better way to go.
