This is a rather new offering (2nd vintage) from Duckhorn's Decoy label, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles.
And as long time readers know, we're big fans of Cabernet from Paso Robles, so we were anxious to see what this one was all about.
The price at Costco was $19.99, so right on par with Justin and Daou. Retail appears to be closer to $30, and we just saw it on sale at Whole Foods for $25.

After we got into this bottle, we'd put this one right on par with the two aforementioned classic Paso Robles bottles. And if we had to bet on a horse to pull away, it would probably be this Decoy bottle.
This was really a fun wine, just what we were hoping for. Aromas of dark fruit and herbs with nice black cherry, blueberry, and blackberry flavors; soft tannins, elegant mouthfeel; notes of leather, mocha and vanilla with subtle spice. Really well balanced and well made.

Strong value buy for $20 and probably the best wine we’ve tasted from the Decoy portfolio. This is a winner we hope continues for many more vintages to come.

Tried the Decoy, but my Alpharetta Costco didn't receive any allocation, so I bought a couple bottles somewhere else. I, too, love several of the Paso cabs. This was very well balanced with fruit forward and throughout, with all the flavors mentioned by you. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will purchase more.
