A no brainer here, an Antinori Chianti Classico for $17.49. It earned 92 points from Wine Enthusiast which is pretty right on in our opinion.
You almost can't go wrong with Antinori on the label. They consistently produce top quality wines at fantastic prices, and this bottle is a shining example.

Retail price on the wine is around $20-$25. Poking around online we learn that the wine is a slight blend that is predominantly Sangiovese with smaller parts Merlot and Syrah.
Overall, this is just an elegant, earthy, well balanced, well made wine, just as we expected.
A ruby red in the glass with a nose of red fruit and herbs; flavors of cherry, strawberry, raspberry; delicate in the mouth, integrated tannins, medium body, solid finish. Super food friendly, and not just Italian, this one can go with so much.

This is an easy drinking crowd pleaser at a fantastic price. So many of these $20 Chianti Classicos are just crushing it right now, drinking way above their pay grade.
