Readers first alerted us to this new Kirkland wine a couple weeks ago, and we finally found it in stores near us.
We are happy to see this bottle join the Kirkland wine portfolio, and even happier once we got into it. It's quite a bargain for only $6.99.

The wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (60%) and Sémillon (40%), which is common for Bordeaux Blanc. Sémillon adds body and richness that helps balance out the high acid from the Sauvignon Blanc.
The Chateau pictured on the front label is Chateau Petit Freylon, which is the producer of the dependable and value priced, Kirkland Bordeaux Superieur. With this offering, they are becoming to the go-to Chateau for inexpensive Kirkland wines, both red and white.

Moving in to the tasting, the wine pours a nice light pale yellow in the glass; aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers; medium in body, zesty with nice acidity; flavors of lemon, grapefruit, apple and nectarine; good finish, not the longest but pleasant.
This is a good wine at a fantastic price, just the kind we love to find on this blog and at Costco. And perfect timing with the warmer months coming in now.

I noticed a pallet of Kirkland Signature Chablis priced at $14.99 Monday. It was not Grand Cru.

I found this wine at Costco in Prosper, TX and tried it over three days with consistent notes: Crisp acidity, minerality and clean 100% Chardonnay fruit (no malolactic or oak).

The recently-released Kirkland Chablis does not have the Premier Cru designation of its higher priced sibling ($14.95 VS. 21.95) but is otherwise almost a clone----same winemaker, same descriptors for its flavor profile("lemon citrus with white floral notes" and "distinctive minerality".I was expecting a watered-down version of one of my favorite wines , the Kirkland Premier Cru Chablis, but lo and behold this cheaper version is practicallly a clone. Would be fun to taste them side by side. Since my fly-over Costco does not get too many Chablis, I will definitely be stocking up on this.

I usually drink ~$20 Sauvignon Blanc and am enjoying my first glass of this. Quite nice, especially at the price. I think my wife will also like it as she finds Sauvignon Blanc too acid
