Another July 4th arrival for one of our favorite Kirkland wines, here's the 2022 vintage of the Kirkland Barolo.
It's always an exciting wine for us, and good news right off the bat is that the price is staying the same at $19.99, which is almost unheard of for quality Barolo wines.

And we are coming off a nice string of 93 point ratings for this bottle that we hope continues for this 2022 vintage. Here's how it's stacked up for us over the years.
2021 vintage: 93 points
2020 vintage: 93 points
2019 vintage: 93 points
2017 vintage: 93 points
2016 vintage: 92 points
2015 vintage: 92 points
Good news, my friends. This one is hitting the mark once again just as we hoped.
Similar tasting notes to prior years. The wine is a medium garnet in the glass; aromas of red and dark fruit, earth and tobacco; medium in body with firm tannins built for some age; flavors of cherry and pomegranate with notes of anise, tobacco, earth into a lasting finish.

A beauty once again; there's just so much going with this wine, give a good decant, and consider popping a few in the cellar to lay down for a few more years.
This remains one of the best Kirkland bottles out there, and is about as good as you can get under $20 in the wine aisle.

The sad thing is, by the time we get this notification, all three of our Costco's in Albuquerque are out of stock.

Question for you (though I think I already know the answer): do they change the item number with every vintage? Just wondering if I can store the item number to always look up the wine I am looking for (this is a wine I want to know the second it comes out, along with the Oakville Cab). Thanks for your time.

99% of the time the Costco item number stays the same vintage to vintage. We’ve caught a few times when it changed, and will always try to make a note of it.

I just got the latest Kirkland Sig Vacqueras a few days ago. Nice bottle for $12.99. Going back for a case today.

Awesome. We heard it was released but haven’t been able to find it around us yet.
