New Kirkland Wine: 2024 Bordeaux Blanc

Published: Apr 1, 2026 by Editor · 11 Comments

Kirkland Bordeaux Blanc

It's always an exciting day when a reader (thanks Ian) writes in after spotting a new Kirkland wine.

This time it's a Kirkland Bordeaux Blanc that was reported at a Costco store in Issaquah, WA (near HQ).

The price was $6.99, which is fantastic, and regular readers might be familiar with the Chateau pictured on the front label. Chateau Petit Freylon is also the producer of the dependable and value priced, Kirkland Bordeaux Superieur.

Kirkland Bordeaux Blanc

As is typical of a Bordeaux Blanc, the wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (60%) and Sémillon (40%).

We hope to find near us soon, but here are some notes we received, "color is pale, light fruit on the nose. The Semillon reduces the acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc. It is not as "sharp/acidic" as a NZ SB, but is light and refreshing; no taste of oak...a nice, easy drinking white wine to accompany fish or shellfish and a great value."

Costco item number is: 1931347

Thanks again Ian for sharing the details for this first report.

Great to hear the oak isn't overdone. Nothing ruins a 'value level' white quite like feaux oak chips/staves. Will be on the lookout!

Picked this up the other day and had a glass at lunch. Quite delightful. Very little oak presence, and overall a clean, slight citrus/honey flavor profile. What a bargain at $6.99. Definitely case-worthy heading in to summer.

I am a huge Bordeaux Blanc fan, and I love Kirkland wines. I have been drinking it for over 30 years, and was very excited with this blend. However, it is deeply disappointing. It is thin with little character. The Semillon should give it depth and structure, nope. It is not even worth the $7.

A wonderful value for a French wine that drinks well and has a classy label and cork (though I generally prefer a screw cap for my whites). The semillon definitely tames/balances the sharper, acidic notes of the Sauv Blanc, making for an enjoyable combo. A Homerun.

In stock in Alpharetta and Perimeter! Guessing it’s made its way to all the Atlanta stores.

I just bought a bottle on April 6th here in Stuart, Florida. Haven’t tried it yet. There’s also a Kirkland Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and a non-Kirkland white Maçon-Villages wine, both seemingly new.

Jump on the Chateauneuf-du-Pape. They never disappoint and always sell out fast.

I bought a bottle in SW OH on Monday. $6.99 as well. Very nice. I'll be buying more for sure.

This wine is very acidic. I couldn't drink it. My wife is a bigger fan of whites, but she didn't like it either.
