It's that time of the year again when Costco starts bringing in the Fall / Winter wines that we've come to look forward to.
First up that we've found around us is the Grands Vins de Bordeaux 4 bottle boxed set. This one is just what you would expect if you've been a fan of previous boxes.
The price has stayed the same at $29.99, which is a bargain for four bottles all rated 90+ points.

We have one returning bottle this time around, the Chateau de Lyde from Cadillac Cotes de Bordeaux that is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.
New this year is the 2023 Petit Sociondo which earned 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and consists of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabemet Sauvignon.
We also have the 2023 Chateau La Grange Des Mauberts, which also earned 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and this one comes in at 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec
And finally, the Chateau Baron Bellevue from the 2022 vintage. This one is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and earned 91 points from Wine Enthusiast along with a Best Buy designation.

Not a bad lineup at all, and we'd love to taste all of these if we have a chance. If any readers have a chance to taste, please feel free to post your thoughts in the comments below. Cheers.

Meh wines imo unless you like overly tannic stain your teeth wines. It’s no wonder these are merlot dominant, it’s the only way to salvage them as drinkable this young as few will let them settle in for a better showing. This is one instance of “you get what you pay for”.
As always just my 2 cents..

I've bought these boxes in the past and regarding the previous comment, they are young Petit Chateau clarets and you should decant them an hour or so before drinking. They are decent, everyday wines at a reasonable price.

Last year I bought two of these boxes. The first I consumed shortly after purchase and thought it was a fairly good value for the price of 7 and a half dollars of decent but not great Bordeaux. Recently I remembered I had the second case and tried a bottle from it----specifically the Chateau Le Hyde--- and was amazed at how good it was after a year in the cellar-----deep, rich Bordeaux for that same 7 and a half bucks ! Now I'm looking forward to the other three bottles. Another consideration is the difference between the vintages of 2022 and 2023 in Bordeaux. 2023 not nearly as strong and makes me pause to buy the current version----will see what others have to say.
