An interesting wine here with a massive Costco discount. $13.00 off the standard price of $32.99 makes the final price a nice $19.99, not bad for a wine from Stags Leap.
We tasted and reviewed their Rutherford Cabernet just a few months ago, that also came in with a huge discount, and we really like it, going 91 points. So we were really curious to get into this one.
Wine Enthusiast gave this wine 93 points, and listed a retail price of $120 (pretty sure this is the same wine).
In the glass this wine is a deep purple with a classic nose of vanilla, spice and dark berry fruit; medium plus to full in body; flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum; notes of dark chocolate, spicy black pepper, vanilla and leather; delightful finish.
A lovely wine from the Stags Leap district, right on the heels of the latest vintage of the Kirkland Stags Leap also arriving in stores. This was our favorite vintage of all time for that wine and went 93 points.
Both bottles are priced at $19.99 right now. We'd opt for the Kirkland bottle, but if it's sold through, this is very nice alternative from this amazing area of Napa.
