Here’s a new Cabernet from Paso Robles hitting Costco stores. This one slides in right alongside other popular Costco favorites from this region we’ve also reviewed and enjoyed like Justin and Daou.
The price tag at Costco ($16.99) comes in a few bucks shy of the aforementioned bottles, providing a similar quality wine at a very good price. Retail for this wine is around $20 and Total Wine sells it for $18. The wine received 90 points from Wine Advocate.
In the glass, the wine pours a deep ruby; it has an herbal nose with cigar box, spice and ripe fruit; full bodied and big; flavors of cherry, anise, notes of clove; good finish, dusty. A very nice find under $20.
Paso Robles Cabernet fans will find favor here. It’s exactly what you are expecting.
While we went 90 points on the Justin and Daou, we’re bringing this one in at a very solid 89 points. Hope we see it become a Costco staple like the others have.
