2021 My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon

2021 My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon

Very nice to see this one make an appearance in Costco for its third year in a row. Long time readers know we adore this wine, going 95 points on the 2019 vintage, and another 95 points on the 2020 vintage.

We are seeing a small $1 price increase, but Costco’s price still remains well below the retail price of around $60 for this bottle.

My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon

Like previous vintage, this wine earned huge scores across the board with the critics. 94 from Jeb Dunnuck (our favorite reviewer) and 92 from Wine Advocate.

The wine is once again blended with a few other varietals, the final makeup coming in at: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, 2% Petit Sirah and 1% Syrah.

In the glass the wine is a dark ruby, with some cigar box, pencil shavings and spice on the nose; medium plus to full in body, with grippy tannins; big on flavor as we expect from this wine, blueberry, blackberry, black cherry; well made all around and delicious in the finish.

My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon

Right there with previous vintages, and right in the sweet spot we like. $46 is certainly not inexpensive, but if you’re going to spend a few bucks beyond that $20-$30 range, this is a perfect example of the quality you can get.
