It's interesting that we're seeing the 2024 vintage of this wine arriving in Costco stores right now. It was just over two years ago that we reviewed the 2021 vintage, so a bit of a jump to 2024.
But it's not uncommon for Costco to skip a vintage, or for us to miss one. We try to get to all of the Kirkland wines we can find, but sometimes they sneak past us in between Costco runs.
Since the inaugural 2013 vintage of this bottle, the price has remarkably stayed the same, and it is hanging tight once again with the new 2024 vintage at $9.99.

Our ratings over the years are pretty consistent:
2021 - 88 points
2019 - 88 points
2018 – 89 points
2017 – 88 points
2015 – 90 points
2013 – 87 points
One interesting thing to note with the new 2024 vintage is the winemaker. It has switched to Jeff McBride, a name some readers may recognize as he is responsible for the always delicious Kirkland Suscol Vineyard Cabernet.

We have similar tasting notes to prior vintages, but found a little more nuance this time around. Dark fruit and baking spice on the nose; nice concentrated fruit, flavors of blackberry, black cherry and jam; tight tannins, rich and full bodied; more spice in the finish.
This is kind of a fun change of pace, and a rather tasting wine. Definitely good for burgers, with meat on the grill, or smoky cheese. 88 points from us on a nice showing this time around.

This looks interesting. I am a big fan of Zinfandel, particularly Bedrock and Carlisle. I must say that this Kirkland label looks like a complete ripoff of the Bedrock label. Call the lawyers!

Our local Costco in Pittsfield Township (Ann Arbor) Michigan has downsized the wine department by half, from both sides of two aisles to one. This is distressing! Are other stores doing this?

Our local Costco in Bradenton, FL had this wine for $9.99. We tried it with BBQ as was excellent pairing. Very good value for the price and had a lot of blackberry and cherry notes. Would highly recommend and will be purchasing additional bottles.
