The Kirkland Malbec is back with the new 2024 vintage. Right off the bat, we're looking at that price, which amazingly is staying the same at $6.99.
It's hard to believe but the price has stayed the same on this bottle since it was first released back in 2017 with the 2015 vintage.

Next we're looking to see if there are any changes to the producer. But once again, it's made by Broquel under winemaker Sergio Case who has been making this wine since that first 2015 vintage.
Zooming out to the rest of the vintages we've tasted and reviewed, you can see this bottle consistently lands in the 86-88 point range for us.

It looks like we've posted about every vintage except the 2016, which we may have missed.
Getting into this new vintage, it's familiar but hitting a little better even than the 2023.
The wine is a deep purple in the glass; dark fruit, spice, floral on the nose; flavors of plum, blackberry, black cherry with medium plus body and moderate tannins; notes of anise, herbs and oak; good finish and was even better the next day.

We're bumping this new vintage up to 88 points, and this bottle remains an incredible value for only $6.99.

That is an amazing price. I’ve never tried their Malbec in the past, but you’ve intrigued me enough to try it now.

This has been my "every day" wine (not that I have wine every day...) for years

Tom Gilbey on YouTube recently bought and tried what looks like the same bottle at a Costco in England and didn’t like it. I bought one a month or two ago here in Florida and thought it reasonable value for money. In the few cases Tom’s tried a wine I can get, I generally agree with him, but not this time.

Thanks for the review. I look forward to trying this Malbec.
I don't know how or where to post the following general comment so please feel free to cut and paste it wherever its suitable. FWIW, I am the poster that many years ago (10 years back?) raved about the Kirkland Ribera Del Duero that many of us loved. Back then, I commented that the Kirkland Ribera del Duero had two (three?) different corks. I provided cork photos to Andrew to post.
General Comment
While we cherish the high rated wines that sell for more, some of the inexpensive wines serve a purpose for those of us that drink only a glass with dinner and continue to drink the wine over four to five consecutive days. If possible, it would be great to mention in the review, or learn from other commenters, how the particular inexpensive wine holds up on subsequent days after opening. I pump the air out of bottle after each pouring and have found that some of these inexpensive Kirkland wines hold up very well.
THANK YOU !
