It looks like there's even more wines from DAOU coming to Costco shelves, which is ok with us. Cool label on this one.
We just reviewed and really enjoyed their Sauvignon Blanc. The DAOU Cabernet has been a Costco staple for a while and we've seen a few vintages of their Chardonnay as well.

This Bodyguard bottle is a rather unique one, a blend of Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah, resulting in a big, bold, spicy red.
Costco's price is $24.99 which might be the best around. Online we see the bottle going for $30-$40 at most places. And 93 points from Wine Enthusiast on the prior vintage.
Right on the pour you can tell this is a big one. It's a deep ruby in the glass, about as dark as you can get; full bodied as you'd expect, with bold juicy dark fruit flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and plum; notes of anise, baking spice and vanilla. The finish is peppery and spicy.

A solid effort that will really appeal to readers who love big, bold California reds. It's everything you're hoping it will be, and will find a place on our recommended wine list.
DAOU also makes a Bodyguard Chardonnay that we hope to see at Costco someday too.

Both the label—attractive, in my opinion—the name, the font, and the overall bottle/wine style bear more than a passing resemblance to The Prisoner Red Blend. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, or perhaps they’re simply hoping to ride on its success.
For the record, I’m not a fan of the style. It’s a bit OTT for my taste.

You give another back-hand compliment to Costco on pricing. At least you are consistent!

Please explain how "Costco's price is $24.99 which might be the best around," constitutes a "back-hand compliment."
