This was a new find at Costco but a wine that we’ve tasted at a restaurant before, and we enjoyed it quite a bit.
Long time readers will know that we are big fans of wines from Paso Robles, so we were thrilled to be able to taste this one again and get it up on the site.
First thing to note is the price, $16.99 at Costco. That compares to retail around $26 and Wine.com selling it for $25. So we’re getting a nice discount through Costco.
92 points from Wine Advocate is a nice bonus, as is the cool quote on the back of the label from the late and great Joe Strummer from the Clash. The minute we saw that quote on the back we knew we had to buy this wine.
And it delivered once again. Vibrant, earthy nose; great fruit flavor packed with red and dark fruit, cherry, blueberry, plum; spicy mid palate and dry and lasting in the finish.
Lots to like here, and this falls right in line with other Paso Robles wines we’ve found at Costco and enjoyed from Daou, Justin and Austin Hope. 90 points and a thumbs up from us.

Paso Robles is one of the most innovative and interesting wine areas in California now. Lots of different winemakers trying lots of different things.
