We found a couple new additions in the wine aisles worth noting during a recent visit to a Costco store in Alpharetta, GA.
First up is a new “Taste of Spain” collection coming in at $24.99 for 3 bottles.
The collection includes a Cabernet Sauvignon, a proprietary red wine and a Tempranillo. All wines were rated 90+ points.
Next is a display of the big bottles. This happens towards the end of every year. We see some 1.5L and 3L bottles making an appearance. Sometimes there are incredible buys on these, both before and after the holidays.
The lineup we saw this year, had a few stand outs. The La Rioja Alta 904 1.5L and Billecart Salmon Brut Rose 1.5L would be two of our top picks. That Kathryn Hall too.
Cheers everyone.

I have seen the following wooden wine boxes in Hawthorne CA recently (all at once!) - 1) Grand Vins de Bordeaux, $30 for 4 red wines; 2) Vinos de Espana, also $30 for 4 red wines (different than the box of 3 you describe here); 3) Wines of Europe, $35 for 4 european reds from different countries; 4) Rhone tasting box, $50 for 3 southern Rhone reds from Guillaume Gonnet (the same winemaker who made the Kirkland Chateauneuf du Pape and Vacqueyras released earlier this year). I have enjoyed the Spanish box especially. Spoiled for choice...
