We always seem to drink a lot of Pinot Noir this time of the year.
This bottle from Santa Barbara county had been lingering around in stores near us for a bit, and we finally decided to grab one and see what it was all about.
Turns out, a pretty good Pinot at a pretty good price. Retail price is around $24, and Costco is way below that at $14.99. Plus 90 points from Wine Enthusiast.
The wine includes grapes from Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, and Sta. Rita Hills.
In the glass, the wine is a medium ruby with aromas of dried fruit, earth and baking spice; medium bodied with chewy tannins; flavors of cherry, pomegranate, blackberry; more baking spice in the finish with some cinnamon; strong finish.
This is great buy at Costco right now if you see it. You don't find too many priced at $15 at this level of quality. We think Wine Enthusiast was right on the money with 90 points.
