This is a part of a little series we call, "we drink what you drink" (WDWYD). A lot of times we'll be perusing the aisles of our local Costco and we will spy on the wine in other people's carts.
On this most recent trip, we found two different carts where the shopper purchased this Pinot Noir, which we've also been curious to try just haven't pulled the trigger.
So let's give it a shot. The price was certainly reasonable at only $11.49 for California Pinot Noir. Online the wine goes for a few bucks more so a decent Costco price.
The previous vintage of this wine received a big 91 points from Wine Enthusiast as indicated on the Costco placard sign.
Finding good Pinot Noir in this price range is always a challenge and this bottle is a fair shot at aggregating grapes from a few areas of California to create an affordable and very drinkable, everyday Pinot.
The wine is a light to medium ruby in the glass; medium in body with flavors of black cherry, plum, pomegranate; youthful and bright, ready to drink now; touch of baking spice into the finish which is juicy, nice acidity.
Not a bad find at all, and the price is hard to beat for a versatile everyday table wine. 88 points from us, with a surprise thumbs up.

I continue to struggle with how you diminish the outstanding available values at Costco!

Assuming few means at least 3 To 4 bucks more, that means Costco is a better value by 30 to 40%.
That is “outstanding” not decent value!
