2024 Vina Costeira Via Barrosa Albarino

Published: Mar 14, 2026 by Editor · 7 Comments

2024 Vina Costeira Via Barrosa Albarino

Alright, a new Albarino at Costco. Always a welcome sight for us. We still think there should be a $9.99 Kirkland Albarino from Rias Baixas, which would just crush it.

But we have a winner here with this Via Barrosa Albarino, also from Rias Baixas. Costco brought it in at $14.99 and the wine received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast which we felt was pretty spot on.

In the review from Wine Enthusiast, they also note a $38 retail price so we are getting a hefty Costco discount.

In the glass, this wine pours a pale yellow; aromatic nose of citrus and flowers with a little honey; medium bodied, with nice acidity and super dry throughout; flavors of peach, pear, apricot; salt and mineral notes into the tarty finish.

Albarino fans, get ready to stock up. You might want to have some of these on hand when the summer months roll in.

My location in Houston, Texas doesn't have this but just started carrying a Paco & Lola Albarino Rias Baixas for $16.99. I have not tried it yet.

Not in NoVA stores either buy last trip a week ago I discovered the 2023 Kirkland Signature Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Price dropped to $10.99 from the 2022 vintage (at least in our NoVA area).

No lo he visto en las tiendas del área de San Diego , de hecho algunos vinos de los cuales hacen las reseñas no llegan a todas las tiendas.

I am striking out this morning. Other the the always present Malbec, none of the Orange County California Costco's have any of the Wine Blog wines featured today. I was really excited to see the Albarino, from Rias Baixas. Bob Paulinski who does wine related videos on YouTube, featured Rias Baixas this week.

None the less, it is always interesting to see what Costco is offering.

I bought one bottle here in Stuart, Florida, tried it for Easter, enjoyed it a lot. It sold out here a week or two ago. A lot of wines don’t last long at Costco: there was a marked-down Australian GSM I tried and liked and haven’t seen again.
