It's always a pleasant sight when you see that yellow bar on the Costco placard indicating a special discount, especially when it's on a wine you would probably buy anyway.
This time we have a French Sauvignon Blanc with a regular Costco price of $14.99. With $6 off, it brings the price down to a very palatable $8.99.
Not bad at all considering retail price is around $16 and the wine pulled down 91 points from Wine Enthusiast. Getting this for under $10 is a steal, and once we tasted the wine, that was only confirmed.
This wine is a light gold in the glass; citrus fruit on the nose and a mineral component throughout; gentle acidity, not overdone; flavors of lemon, apricot and white peach; crisp in the finish.
This wine is subtle, easy going and super food friendly, making it a solid table wine for just about any occasion; not to mention at a price that's hard to beat with this limited time discount.

I thought it was a terrific value and reasonably good French Sauvignon. Australia and New Zealand sauvs end with a mouthful of tart grapefruit. Prefer French or some from CA. However this wine is sold out and not available at any Costco in SW Florida. Too bad, I should have bought more.
