This marks the third vintage for this exciting, and very delicious, Kirkland wine. We are thrilled to see it back and hope this is an indication it's sticking around for a while.
We've gone 93 points on this one back to back, making it among the highest rated wines in the Kirkland portfolio from our standpoint.

The price did creep up $1 with this vintage, but even at $18.99, this bottle remains a ridiculous value for a Gran Selezione Chianti. As we said in last year's write up, this wine lands somewhere in between "very nice Chianti" and "Brunello" territory.
Very similar tasting notes to the prior two vintages, which is a good thing. The wine is a medium ruby in the glass; earthy with tobacco and leather notes; flavors of black cherries, blackberry; full bodied and acidic with integrated tannins; dry finish.
Complex, elegant and interesting with every sip, this is a winner once again, right there in that same 93 point range we've found since its introduction.

We hope seeing this third vintage is indicative of it becoming a permanent part of the Kirkland wine portfolio. It will stay on our Top Picks list with a big thumbs up.

Whoo Hoo! It's in stock (same price as noted) at my local NoVA Costco stores! I'm stocking up this time.

Whenever I see a JS rating I generally subtract 4-5 points as I rarely agree with his review. I am pleasantly surprised you rated this higher than JS. I will be looking for it on my next Costco trip. I just bought a case of the new Kirkland Gigondas and it is a smokin' deal. We tried one last evening and it was terrific. But we are quite partial to Southern Rhone Wines. We currently have 124 in our temp controlled wine storage.

Awesome to hear Rick and it sounds like we have similar tastes in wine.
This Chianti may be the first time we’ve gone higher than Suckling as you point out.
Worth it in our opinion. Hope you can find it and try too.

Bought 2 bottles when this post came out. Having it tonight and found it delicious. Is that proper wine lingo? Seriously though, the fruit was palate on palate, moderate tannin and very nice body for a Chianti. Liked the finish. Did not have food with it, but it would be great with red sauce or even a pizza.
