Bodegas Olarra is a familar sight to many in the Costco wine aisle, and over the years we've reviewed a nice selection of their Riojas, but not this Gran Reserva that we found at a nice discounted price.
Costco's $8 limited time discount on this bottle brings the price down to only $11.99, which is super compelling for a Gran Reserva Rioja; especially one that received 95 points from Decanter, and 92 from Wine Enthusiast.

This one pours a medium to dark ruby in the glass; red and dark fruit, earthiness on the nose; flavors of black cherry, raspberry and plum; notes of mint, spice, cedar and vanilla; elegant mouthfeel with soft tannins, good acidity and finish.
This is a delicious wine at a very attractive Costco price, almost hard to believe the quality you are getting here for $12.

This is a perfect food wine, a great one to bring to a dinner party, or a tasty bottle that is just fine on its own too. We're big fans.

Was at the Naples, Fl Costco today and it was not at the reduced price. Is it possible the discount was over so soon. This price was published here on 2

Bought two at the Clearwater store 2/18 at the reduced price. They had a large selection of this wine featured.

I bought the last 2 bottles at the Ft Myers store. Look forward to trying it. Ive had wines from this producer before, not outstanding, but always a great value.

Thanks for the review.
I bought one at $11.99, opened today (decanted 2 hours prior).
My opinion: Decent wine, but not worth $20. I would be OK paying $15 for it. Costco got it right with the discount pricing.
