We had a good feeling about this bottle, and it lived up to it all the way. A 2017 Ribera del Duero Reserva at Costco for $12.99. Love it.
Fans of Spanish wines like Ribera, Toro or Rioja shouldn’t wait a second to scoop some of these up, especially at this price. We feel this wine drinks 2-3X its meager price. 93 from Suckling is close this time around.
The wine is a medium ruby in the glass, earthy nose; tannins are starting to soften, the wine feels great in the mouth; medium body, elegant all around; flavors of black cherry, plum with notes of dark chocolate; smoky, earthy and dry in the finish.
We’re big fans of this style from Spain (wrote a whole book on it in fact). It’s elegant and interesting with each sip. And a good one for all types of food pairing.
This might be one of the most affordable bottles to make our Recommended wine list. Go Costco.

The 2022 Rutherford Cab is unbelievable. I bought a bottle this last Monday and was so impressed! I went back today (Wednesday) to load up but sadly they are sold out. I checked with them and they expect to be restocked in 5 days so I will definitely be buying a case if they have it to spare.

I looked for this tempranillo at both the Perimeter and Cumberland stores in Atlanta and it wasn't sold at either. I was so disappointed! I don't have time to get to Kennesaw (and it may be sold out by now), but I do have to be in Alpharetta for work on Saturday. That is my last hope.

Just phoned our local Costco and was told I was the second caller already this morning! But they don’t have it and are not expecting it. She said it looked like it was only in the SE states. Too bad!

Hope this comes to our stores in Northern Virginia. A while back they featured Portia, a reserva from RDD, and it was a bargain at $15. When the “Manager’s Sale” brought it down to 10 bucks, it was an immediate case buy. We’ll keep eyes peeled.
