We’ve got a classic Willamette Valley Pinot Noir here at a steeply discounted Costco price. The catch is that it ends tomorrow 11/18.
I wish I would have seen this earlier. The retail price on this wine is $30, but with the $6 discount, you can score it at Costco for $18.99. Granted, I’m not sure how many Costco stores out there will have it, but keep an eye out if you’re swing through your warehouse this weekend.
It’s also a great Thanksgiving pick ( funny how these Thanksgiving picks all seem to hit stores right before the holiday).
This wine is light, see through red in the glass but a nice burst of flavor in the mouth; I found the nose to be a bit muted but the scent of raspberries came through. Medium in body, great mouthfeel, flavors of raspberry, spicy cherry, cola, red licorice,
It’s a simple and elegant Pinot Noir that super food friendly. We enjoyed it alongside a quick hummus chicken and cauliflower dish that was a good match.
As I dig in further, I think the finish might be the strong point here. It’s deep and lasting. Almost surprising how long it lingers given the lighter body and sneaky elegance to the wine.
I think this is a winner. Even on its own this is a delicious Pinot that’s just super easy to enjoy. Plain and simple.
