2016 Domaines Pierre Chavin Cotes de Provence Pierre & Paul Rose

2016 Domaines Pierre Chavin Cotes de Provence Pierre & Paul Rose

This is a lovely Cotes de Provence Rose for only $9.99.  The blend is 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault and 20% Syrah, so it has a little pepper and spice, which I really enjoy.

The wine pours a nice salmon color and kicks off a little of that pepper on the nose. In the mouth though is where this wine shines.  Some nice acidity surrounding red fruit flavors of wild strawberry, raspberry and a touch of cranberry.  Pleasant finish.

Make sure you don’t serve this too cold or you will miss out on some of the wine’s character. And see if you can squeeze it in on a warm day before they disappear, otherwise, it would make a great pre-dinner aperitif.

As an added bonus, the wine is made from organic grapes, which is always nice to see.  I found the wine to be right in line with this year’s Kirkland Cotes de Provence Rose, so if you missed that one (which disappeared from stores faster than almost any Kirkland bottle in history), here’s a chance to get another solid wine from the same region for just $1 more.
