Chandon Brut Rosé

Chandon Brut Rosé

It’s heatin’ up around the Atlanta area, and there are few things tastier on a hot day than a delicious brut rosé.

We recently enjoyed the Gerard Bertrand An 825 Cremant de Limoux Brut Rose we found at Costco for $14.49.  Also, the Lucien Albrecht Cremant d’Alsace Brut Rosé that is a few dollars more at $17. Both great Costco picks.

If you’re looking for a nice bubbly from California to celebrate July 4, look no further.

Chandon Brut Rosé

Today’s bottle is from Domaine Chandon which is located in Yountville, right in the heart of Napa Valley. The price at Costco is $15.99, representing one of those rare cases where Costco isn’t the least expensive.  I was able to find it at Total Wine for $15.97.  It is $20 at Wine.com which is always a little high.

This bubbly is a blend of the three traditional grape varietals used in Champagne — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; the Pinot giving the wine a nice deep salmon color in the glass.

The wine has vibrant flavors of strawberry and cherry with some vanilla and light cream; gentle effervescence, this wine is crisp, dry and refreshing.

This bottle received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and 89 points from Wine Advocate.  I’m right there with them.  It’s a solid summer sipper, well made and just hard to put down.
