Sometimes I forget about the white wines from South America, and this one that I purchased at my Costco for only $8.79 reminded me of the great value you can get from whites (and reds) from this area.
We prepared some Mahi and Brussel spouts on a hot Atlanta day, and this wine was perfect before, during and I would say after, the meal except it didn’t last that long (we moved on to a more expensive Paso white blend that we didn’t enjoy as much as this wine). This is a perfect hot weather/seafood wine. It has the intense citrus, grapefruit, pineapple flavors you expect from a Sauvignon Blanc, but it has a bit more depth and dimension, thanks to a touch of wood influence and crisp acidity.
In the end, we enjoyed this one. And the price at Costco is unbeatable. (plus I noticed some prior vintages of this wine had some pretty high scores; I wasn’t sure where the critics put this one)
