It's been a while since we reviewed a Vinho Verde from Costco but it seems like we drink them all summer long, and pair with all the summer cuisine.
These Vinho Verde (which in Portuguese translates to "green" wines) hail from Northern Portugal and they are just perfectly crisp, refreshing and delicious without breaking the bank.
Here's a new one hitting warehouses for $7.99; looks like retail is $11. This bottle packs in everything you want with a touch of effervescence.
In the glass this wine is a pale gold with citrus fruit aromas; it is simple and straightforward, light to medium in body; nice acidity with flavors of lemon, melon, stone fruit, and green apple. Zesty, refreshing in the finish.
A perfect complement to a warm day or if you're sitting at the beach or by the pool. Low-ish alcohol (12.5% for this one, most of these wines are even lower than that), so you can enjoy throughout the day.
Stock up for summer.
