A little something different this time around: an organically grown Syrah from Paso Robles.
Interesting label, cool name (mine) and a pretty good price at Costco coming in at $14.99, versus Total Wine where we see it for $19.99; retail appears to be closer to $30.

Wine Enthusiast went a whopping 92 points for this bottle; a bit high in our opinion but a nice accolade for sure. A little research showed us that the wine is a blend coming in at 90% Syrah and 10% Petite Sirah.
In the glass the wine is a deep, dark purple; aromatic nose that is floral, herbal and peppery; flavors of dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry and plum; notes of spicy black pepper, big, meaty and bold, full bodied, juicy and young, perfect for hearty meals or grilled meats.

This is a fun wine at a great Costco price; a good bottle to have on hand for when just the right occasion pops up where it might hit the spot.

I can't understand why Costco Atlanta has all these central coast wines that the Costco stores in southern California don't have. Thanks for the tip on using the Costco app to check availability.

I've found Wine Enthusiast to consistently score bottles around 2-4 points higher than Wine Spectator, in case that's helpful for readers' reference. I don't believe WS has reviewed this one, but even if it's more realistically an 88-89 point wine you could do far worse for $15.
I haven't seen this yet in Southern California either, but as a fellow Andrew it'll be fun to try!

From what I can tell, they buy grapes from everywhere and pump out volumes of wine, based in San Francisco. I’d rather buy estate wine, grapes grown locally and made.
