It’s always nice to find a new wine from Gerard Bertrand at Costco. We’ve had so many good reds, rose and whites from them over the years, and they just consistently deliver with each bottle.
Our two most recent reviews of their wines were the Saint-Chinian An 1877, and the An 825 Cremant de Limoux Brut Rose. 89 points from us on both of those.
We had no idea they produced a Sauvignon Blanc like this in the fancy rose bottle. The bottle is unique in that the bottom is sculpted into a rose. Pretty cool design that stands upright ok, but just doesn’t fit as nicely in the wooden Costco bins.
This bottle has a retail of $17, so a good discount at Costco coming in at $13.79. We also see 91 points from Wine Enthusiast, 87 points from Wine Spectator.
There’s a lot to like in this Sauvignon Blanc; a good mineral aspect throughout; the wine is a medium straw yellow in color with light citrus aromas.
It is a medium bodied wine, with fresh acidity; lemon / lime flavor, green apple, passion fruit; nice finish. Another strong offering from Gerard Bertrand.
This is a perfect warm weather sipper too; we enjoyed poolside and it’s a nice match.
