This is always a fun bottle that we've run into at Costco a few times over the years, the most recent of which was in 2022 with the 2018 vintage, which we greatly enjoyed.
Here we are about four years later and it's making another appearance with the 2021 vintage.
It's important to note that the price stayed the same at $29.99. This is not an inexpensive wine, but then, few bottles from this winery and region are priced much lower.

We have similar tasting notes with this vintage as we did with the 2018, both very good wines, with us enjoying this new 2021 vintage just a bit more. It's a delight to drink, and a fun exploration of the varietal.
In the glass this wine is a deep inky purple; herbal nose with dark fruit; in the mouth it is medium plus in body, firm tannins; flavors of black fruit, plum, black cherry, blackberry; notes of leather, anise and smoke into a super dry finish.

This is a perfect spring BBQ wine that feels purpose built to sit alongside a Big Green Egg or Traeger. A nice change from the usual wines you may gravitate towards.

Nice to see the price holding on this one. Your thoughts on its age-worthiness? Or just give it a good decant? I don't think I've ever had aged petite sirah like other varietals and whenever I had this wine it was always right off the shelf.

Yeah we don’t have a lot of experience with aging this one. Drinking solid now. Not sure you’re going to gain a lot but could be wrong.

I like the fact that you keep us up to date with wonderful wines. It is great to read about them. But they are rarely ever in any of the 3 stores in Omaha.
Ant help is appreciated.

Your blog seems useful and the reviews seem well considered, BUT, to this wine drinker in New York, north of New York City. it is rare that the wines seen in the south ever appear in my store. This limits their usefulness. Perhaps you should check on distribution patterns, find additional reviewers, or, heaven forbid, move around a bit.
