Obviously the name Phelps caught our attention with this bottle. And the price tag too at only $8.99. Online we’re seeing this bottle sell for up to $18 (Wine.com). Retail seems to be $15.
And once we got tasting, the wine is pretty good, so $8.99 is a steal. The wine has pulled down a few 90 point ratings on this 2021 vintage, and older ones as well. But this is our first time tasting it.
This is a super refreshing white, crisp throughout with lemon, green apple and peach flavors; good acidity and tart; surprising from California at this price point, it could easily be paired with a wide range of food.
This is a bottle we plan to buy a few more of to keep on hand. Good juice at a really good Costco price.
