We were curious how this one would show. It’s a new offering in the Pinot Noir aisle, which desperately needs some new additions, at least around us.
The price was certainly right at only $11.99. It’s hard to find good Pinot in that price range, and this one held up pretty well.
The label carries the “Vins de France” designation which means the wine is assembled from various vineyards around France; so it’s not a Bourgogne. The placard also boasts the 91 points from Wine Enthusiast.
On the pour, this wine is a medium ruby with cherry and red berry on the nose; it is medium in body with flavors of red fruit, licorice, and mild spice; a little bit of oak. Gentle acidity.
Really not bad as an everyday table wine, but nothing to run out the door to buy up by the case.
