2015 Brancott Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

2015 Brancott Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

I review the Brancott Sauvignon Blanc every year, and almost always go 87 points on it.  This year’s vintage is no exception.  These Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs are pretty consistent and if you enjoy their style, then this year’s Brancott will find favor with you as well.

In my review of the ’14 Brancott I mention “loads of acidity” which doesn’t deviate from where we are with this years, but the key phrase for the 2015 for me is going to be “grapefruit.”  It’s acidic, it’s signature New Zealand SB across the board, but the grapefruit flavor and mouthfeel really stuck with me on this wine.  I also get a little more blood orange, and some lemon/lime towards the finish.

Overall, this is exactly what you think it is, and a wine that I like to use as an aperitif during the winter months, and a go to outdoor wine for the warmer months.  Price is $8.99 at Costco, and it sometimes will see a $2 sale which makes it even more attractive.
