Here’s a nice inexpensive summer treat at Costco. The Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc is priced at $7.99 and it’s exactly what you expect and want from a New Zealand style Sauv Blanc – it’s packed with tarty citrus flavor, just perfect to enjoy outside on a hot summer day.
Super clear on the pour, the nose is classic New Zealand with the tropical aromas leaping out of the glass. The wine is loaded with peach, apricot, and pineapple flavors, with a puckery, candylike finish and I’m even getting a little stone, mineral on the close.
If you are sitting by a body of water (pool, ocean) this wine will certainly hit the spot, and the price tag can’t be beat. I’ve reviewed almost every vintage of this wine for the last 5 years. They all are consistently fun to drink, and my Costco usually sells them for $8.99 so it looks like they shaved a dollar off for this year’s wine, which I’m sure no one will complain about.
