This is the second Barbera we’ve found at Costco in just a handful of weeks. What a treat to keep finding these (last one was delicious).
If this bottle looks familiar, it’s because this is the same producer of the wonderful Gavi we found at Costco earlier this year. This short, stout bottle must be their thing, so keep an eye out because this producer makes really delicious and well-priced wine.
This one comes in at $14.99 at Costco, and earned a nice 92 points from Wine Enthusiast. Online pricing looks to be around $15-$20.
Getting into the wine, it’s inky on the nose, flavors of sour cherries, plum with baking spice, nice acidity, and really plesant all around. Great food wine; just what we were looking for.
