2016 Bodegas Casa Primicia Vina Diezmo RV Reserva Rioja

Published: Mar 30, 2024 · Modified: Jan 18, 2025 by Editor ·

2016 Bodegas Casa Primicia Vina Diezmo RV Reserva Rioja

We've never tasted this one before and wasn't sure what to expect, but a $12 Rioja Reserva with seven years of age on it at Costco, needed to be checked out.

And glad we did. This is a stunning wine at a ridiculously low price. Online we see it going for as high as $42. And a 94 point rating from Wine Enthusiast to boot.

2016 Bodegas Casa Primicia Vina Diezmo RV Reserva Rioja

In the glass, the wine is a medium ruby, with red berry fruit, cigar box on the nose. In the mouth, flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, touch of mocha and spice leading into the finish. The wine is dry throughout with good acidity and soft tannins.

Right now is a perfect drinking window on this one, and it's just a superb value find. An easy addition to our Recommended wine list.

    This looks amazing! Just ran up to the Cumberland store as soon as I saw this email and they have none. I asked the wine rep and she had never seen it. Asked an employee up front to search inventory and it had been totally deleted. Nowhere to be found in GA. I’m so disappointed!

      @Julia,
      Same thing happened to me yesterday at the Lacey EA Costco. No trace of it
      WTF?

    I love the Riojas ever since the purchase of a 2012 Criansa Tradicion bottle. The 2015 was not the same (sadly)
    Never the less I did find a 2017 Reciente from Olarra vineyards that was a bargain and quite enjoyable. How can the Rioja found in Atlanta be sourced to Washington?

    After reading your review this morning, I immediately went to the Cumberland Costco, but struck out. Customer Service told me that this was a close-out, that it sold out earlier in the week, and that it wasn’t available in any stores in Georgia. They said some was still available in some Florida stores. Lucky you — you found a unicorn!

      @John,
      Available in Clearwater, but for $19.99.

    The asterisk * in the top right corner of the price-tag indicates that it's a close-out and won't be reordered.

    How can this bottle be gotten in the Lacey WA Costco?

    Found this at the Orange Park, FL, store, but it was $20. Wasn’t as terrific as described. Don’t think I’ll buy it again at that price.

    Awesome Wine. No longer available at Scottsdale and Paradise Valley Arizona store unfortunately.
