This wine is a smoking deal and is fast becoming one of our favorite Kirkland wine buys.
It's not that it's an insane wine. It's the price to quality ratio that is special; in the case of this bottle, it's really hard to beat.

This remains a 87-88 point wine; it's landed in that range for us almost every year.

2018: 85 points
2019: 88 points
2020: 87 points
2021: 87 points
But to deliver scores like this for under $7 is virtually unheard of (technically this wine even went down in price, $0.10 less than last year)
This is a bulk wine buy for fans of Bordeaux, and a perfect every day bottle you can pop on the table almost anytime and be more than satisfied.
This new 2022 hits the mark once again, very similar to the past few vintages which is a very good thing.
There's a slight change to the varietal makeup worth noting. This vintage lands at 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot vs 60/40 the past few vintages.
Lots of dark fruit again this time around; blackberry, plum, black cherry; grippy tannins, nice acidity; solid in the finish.
Just what we were hoping for in this new vintage. Worth stocking up on if you have enjoyed this bottle in the past or if it sounds up your alley. These tend to cycle through fast. Cheers.

They have some at our Henrico VA Costco.
But a more exciting find was the 2022 Kirkland Signature Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. I know you have liked this one consistently.
Editor says
Yes. Love it. Just left my store this morning and didn’t see it yet which is a bummer. Let us know how it is.
Shawn says
Oh I LOVE the oakville as well!! Can’t wait to see it in stores. Andrew, when does it normally come out?
Editor says
We pegged it for Jan / Feb based on past arrivals. We keep a running list here. Hope we see it soon. http://costcowineblog.com/the-definitive-guide-to-costcos-kirkland-signature-wines/

Tried this wine two years ago on a whim...it was excellent, but by the time I was back the next time it was all gone.
Missed it last year and was bummed. Saw it the other day and bought a case. I feel like it was a little more impressive two years ago, but at this price, it is an absolute bargain!

I found this wine to be less than expected in quality. It has a harsh alcoholic finish for my wife and I. Hat even shows on the noise. Sorry to be so snobbish but this Bordeaux is not for us.

Brought to a blinded tasting. By far the worst of the group in fact didn’t even finish the bottle. Am I missing something but this was lousy.
Terry says
Agreed, but we finished it. lol

We’ve been buying this Bordeaux for some time. The 2021, last years vintage, tasted a little raw, highly peppery when we tried it. The same can be said for this years 2022!
But, we’ve four cases left of the 2021 and it’s improved wildly since the first bottle last year. On that note, we bought two cases of the 2022 that arrived at our local Costco last week, just because we know it will get better over the coming months.
Bordeaux is our favorite red and our favorite destination in France.

Really meh for me, tasted like a half decent wine that was watered down by at least 15-20%. Fresh floral fruit in the nose but mouth taste is really meh
