Here's a new Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough that popped up in our Costco store that looked interesting.
We noted in our recent review of the delicious Invivo X by Sarah Jessica Parker (a wine that surpassed expectations) that we hadn't reviewed many of the New Zealand offerings arriving in Costco.
On the heels of the success of that tasting, we were looking forward to trying this Allan Scott bottle.
Price at Costco was $13.99, which is a nice discount since online prices are anywhere from $16-$19 a bottle. Plus 93 points from Wine Spectator as you see indicated on the Costco placard.
Moving into the wine, it's just what you expect from Marlborough: grassy, zesty, acidic, full of tropical fruit. Plenty of grapefruit, lemon, and green apple flavor. Crisp and tarty into the finish.
Another very nice Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand that fans of this style of wine will definitely enjoy. Even as we get into the colder months, we love enjoying these wines as we're cooking or before a meal where we serve a heartier red wine. We do the same year round with rose.
