2021 Petit Marquis de Pennautier Blanc

Published: Jul 19, 2023 by Editor ·

We have to say, the summer of 2023 is seeing the widest selection of new and interesting white wines at Costco that we’ve experienced while running this site.

At least in the stores around the Atlanta area, and we hope you are finding some of these too.

2021 Petit Marquis de Pennautier Blanc

Here is another one, a little outside the standard offerings, that we were thrilled to find.  And the price was right at only $12.99.

Throw in a Wine Spectator 90-point rating, and the 60% Chardonnay, 20% Viognier, and 20% Sauvignon Blanc blend, and you have our full attention.

This was a bright, crisp white that we immediately got into; flavors of lemon, orange and pineapple with herbal notes, a little spice and good acidity; there’s nice depth to the finish

This bottle is perfect poolside or at the beach.  Pair it with a summer salad or white fish.  Really a nice wine and a fantastic buy at a very fair Costco price.

CostcoWineBlog.com Rating: 88 points

Costco item number: 1747327

Purchased at Costco in: Atlanta, GA (Woodstock)

Alc. 12.5%

Based on the review, I was expecting a higher score.
Perfect and 88 seems inconsistent to me!

Why don’t you ever show the wine you are reviewing poured in a glass so the reader can see the colors and understand what to expect?!?!?!

Château de Pennautier, depected on the label, is evidently the "Versailles of Languedoc." There's a website with a lot of information about the property, accommodations, dining, and so on.
