This is a very nice $11 Costco Rioja that is ready to drink right now. This wine stood out to me because it was lighter in body than I expected but carried strong flavor, smooth throughout and a good finish. Perfect to pair with almost any cuisine. There are not going to be many bottles in this price range on the Costco shelves that deliver this much value. I would seek it out.
Aromas and flavors of pronounced red fruit, strawberry, even cranberry, sour apple with more tobacco and mocha towards the finish. The light body is what I will remember most about this wine. It brings a finesse in the mouth and makes this rather enjoyable to drink (for most red wine fans I would imagine) and of course pair with food, although it would be just fine on its own.
I'm going to put this wine on our Top Picks list, and definitely recommend it for only $10.99. Parker gave it 90 points. I'm going just a point below at 89. Nice wine. Great value.
