Wine Voyage Variety Pack

Published: Apr 23, 2022 by Editor ·

Here's the latest Costco variety pack to hit stores right in time for the summer months, the Wine Voyage Variety Pack.

If you've been following the Costco wine variety packs, here's a quick overview of our last three write ups we've done.

12 Days of Cabernet

2021 Wine Advent-ure Calendar

Hello Summer Wine Sampler

Of course, finding a new box is always exciting. This new Wine Voyage box is probably most similar to the Hello Summer one in terms of style, although there are a fair amount of new wines, which we'll get into.

Costco Wine Voyage

This new box costs $49.99 and contains 12 375ml bottles (½ a standard wine bottle) from around the world. We'll list all the wines and regions below, but you can count on wines from Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, along with some varietals you don't see all the time.

When you break the cost down, each 375ml bottle costs about $4, which is pretty inexpensive, and as we always like to note, having the smaller size comes in super handy. There's also a great website with videos and details about each wine if you want to learn more than we cover here.

We picked three random bottles to give them a little taste test and report our thoughts.

2021 Sky's the Limit, Famoso, Italy
12%
Citrus nose, Peachy, nectarine; fruit forward, juicy finish, summery wine.  Good with white cheese (like the goat cheese at Costco) apricot and nuts as an aperitif

Open Door Policy, Red Sangria
7.5%
Clove, black licorice, lots of sugar; unique and probably not our speed; a little different than we were expecting.

2020 Who's Who, Cabernet Sauvignon, Spain
From La Mancha
12%, this is a light Cabernet, almost Pinot territory. Good flavor, red fruit, pepper, acidic super dry finish. Good summer red with a Neapolitan pizza or burgers the grill.

Overall, it should be fun to get into this box a little deeper, and there are some interesting picks in here.

Quick update: we tasted one more bottle last night that is worth noting, the 2020 Queen's Gambit, Cabernet Sauvignon and it was particularly good. They did a nice job keeping the bigger reds a little mellow for the warmer months, while still being enjoyable. We may like his French Cabernet the best of what we've tasted so far.

If you enjoyed these Costco sampler boxes in the past, you might as well drop this one in your cart. We're interested in tasting a few more of the whites and rose, which will be fun.

Here's the full list of wines that are included in the variety pack:

2021 Balance of Power, Macabeo, Spain

2021 Cat Tails, Rosato, Italy

2020 Fable Ridge, Merlot, Moldova

2021 Meandering Maze, White Blend, France

2021 No Prob-Llama, Rose, Portugal

Old World Players, White Sangria

Open Door Policy, Red Sangria

2020 Queen's Gambit, Cabernet Sauvignon, France

2021 Sky's the Limit, Famoso, Italy

NV Solo Reflections, Semi Sweet Red, Italy

2021 Touchpoint, Pinot Grigio, Italy

2020 Who's Who, Cabernet Sauvignon, Spain

We just bought Wine Voyage variety pack and tried the old world players white sangria and we just love it. Where can I get more of it? Does Costco sell individual bottles of it?

    Thanks

Anyone seeing this locally in the Twin Cities yet?

I checked my local Costco (Covington, WA). They don't have it, and it looks like no Costco's on the west coast have this variety pack. Is there any info about availability in WA, OR and CA?
