Many of you have been wondering the same thing we have: where is the Costco wine advent calendar for 2024?
For the past three years, we found it in stores in September. There were a few rumblings online about it for 2024, but not a lot of solid information or spottings in the wild.
We finally reached out the distributor and confirmed the advent calendar is only available in select regions this year. Those regions are: Northeast, Texas, Pacific Northwest and Southwest.
The Atlanta area, where we shop, was not included so the distributor was gracious enough to send us a box for us to check out for the site.
The first thing you notice is that the box this year is called Wine Advent-ure which was the name in most of the prior years except for 2023 when it was known as "Around the World in 24 Wines."
We are glad to see it go back to the original name, as well as the holiday packaging that seems fitting for a themed wine buy like this.
Many of the details for the calendar are the same as prior years. Most importantly perhaps is that the price is staying the same at $99.99.
The format is also familiar. Each box contains 24 half size (375ml) bottles. When you break it down, that comes out to about $4 per half bottle.
The variety of wines from around the world is always a bit different each year, and we found several new additions for 2024.
There's usually red, white and rose wines. Sometimes a bubbly as we saw this year with the addition of a French brut rose.
Also new this year was a Japanese Sake, which is kind of a fun change, as well as a Calimocho. That one caught us really off guard.
Calimocho is a drink that is popular in Spain made by mixing red wine and cola; similar in some ways to the approach for making Sangria.
And one more new bottle pictured above is the organic DOCG Chianti in the basket. Again, kind of a fun new addition.
This year we have many different regions represented including Hungary, Portugal, Chile, Bulgaria and South Africa. Along many of the usual suspects (US, France, Spain).
The Wine Advent-ure website does a great job of highlighting the wines and regions included in the calendar.
On that site you will see labels for each wine, and a brief description and history of the region along with what to expect from the wine.
Remember you can use the new Costco mobile app to search for products and wine in your local warehouse. Searching by item number sometimes is the best.
That'll help you locate this advent calendar and you better do it fast since Dec 1 is right around the corner. The distributor shared that many of the boxes are sold through already, but it's worth a shot.
Note there is a change to the Costco item number. In the past the item number for the advent calendar has been: 1357643. We are told the number is now: 1755071
That's all we got for the 2024 Costco Wine Advent-ure Advent Calendar. If you are among those Costco members who are able to find one this year, please post your comments or thoughts in the notes below.
Cheers, and happy holidays everyone.

Opinions of the reviewer do not necessarily reflect those of CostcoWineBlog.com as a whole, and reviewers are not paid for their reviews by wineries or their affiliated distributors. We at CostcoWineBlog.com believe that wine preferences and opinions are often subjective and highly individualistic. Our scores are based on our individual perception of a wine and how well it reflects the area in which the grapes are grown, the expression of the grapes, and also the quality of the finished product. Thanks for posting. I was actually going to go to Costco today to look for this, but since I live in the ATL, you've saved me a trip. I'm still bummed out about it, especially since the selection includes a sparkler and some really interesting selection. Maybe I'll contact Costco and (politely) ask them to reconsider this decision next year.

Looks like a lot of mediocre wines that I would not be interested in.

Also, they replaced their beer advent calendar with a variety box not labeled advent. It's the Biergarten collection, was available in September in Birmingham AL, probably sold out by now.

The distributor sent us a box but we have zero comment on the quality of the wine in the box? A poor customer experience!

I hate that! I’m over in Athens, GA and Cleveland, TN so it’s not available this year! We have enjoyed it during the holidays for several years. Disappointing! Come on Costco!

Is the case of Nash Cabernet available in Georgia? At $65 a case this wine is A STEAL! The wine is from Bespoke Sonoma. There are great flavors of blackberries here. the wine seems to retail at about $15.
Jack says
@David, It's $60 in Washington, haven't had a taste yet

I SO wish the wine included in these advent boxes were of better quality. I love the half bottles and of course the price is great. However, I have stopped buying them. IMHO I'd say a 1/3 of the bottles are good, 1/3 are maybe "drinkable", and the last 1/3 are pour down the drain or cooking wine only. It is a shame as I LOVE the idea and packaging.
COSTCO ARE YOU LISTENING??
Kevin says
I cannot find any available in Phoenix AZ

I am so bummed out over not being able to get the 2024 wine advent calendar. I look forward to this every year. Yes, I get one for me !!!! Also happy to give them as gifts. I used the Costco app and searched the locations of all my friends, thinking I could get them to get one for me. All my friends must live in the Southern region, too. 😢. Boo Hiss Costco.
Martrese says
@Crystal, My mom and I get them for each other every year. (She's in the NE, I'm in the Pacific Northwest.) Bummer that it's not more widely available this year!!!!
Crystal says
@Martrese, thanks for understanding. Enjoy your special advent gift. Cheers.

I'll be drinking mine starting December 1. I'll report back on the quality.

Living in Wisconsin and Florida. Neither place has the advent wines. My husband and I enjoy one glass each evening in December. We sure will miss it this year. Please bring it back. We have been members since 1997 when we moved to Florida.

Super bummed that I couldn’t get the Costco wine adventure calendar this year! I’ve run into several other people who were equally disappointed. I keep saying Costco ruined Christmas for me with this decision not to sell it in my area (northern Illinois).
Coleen Keith says
How can we order one of these? We’ve been looking for it here in Charlotte!
Debbie Ainsworth says
We are in Florida and could not find we were so disappointed as we get three every year to meet virtually with our son, his wife and our daughter. We meet each night via Zoom. I couldn’t believe it was not available. Would love to know who I can reach out too, to express disappointment

Loved following the wine calendar with the savvy nomad. Miss him terribly. Please see that he gets a box next year. He made our dark northwest nights bearable.

Wow no adventure in wine for Florida. We have purchased this assortment every year and my family has enjoyed the variety of wine. It was always an enjoyable time tasting the different wines and rating them as a group, each having their own favorite. It will be missed this year.

I am so disappointed that the wine advent box could not be found in our region this year. We look forward to it every year. Very disappointing!
