Can’t wait for you guys to cover, or perhaps you have (since that 1914 barolo is not available in Waltham Ma Costco, sadface here):
– Amore Assoluto, ridiculously named Italian blend tending toward valpolicella, said one review, a complex and medium-fruitiness (for the type) bottle
– Esteban Martin garnacha-syrah, fruiter than the above, though not jammy, and of this new-blend type but perhaps more restrained and approaching elegance
– Santa Rita Secret Reserve (shd be double-secret, har) carmenere, one of the lesser bordeaux grapes, v dry and almost sour with the wrong dish (tomato), but refined and quite french in depth and finish; one reviewer said it could be easily taken for a cab blend from that Gironde area
All are high-rated by JSuckling, well above 90, and while he sure seems the easiest touch in the whole wine reviewing world, that must be worth something
