2024 Costco Wine Thanksgiving Picks

Published: Nov 11, 2024 · Modified: Jan 10, 2025 by Editor ·

2024 Costco Wine Thanksgiving Picks

It's already that time of the year, and we're sure that many of you are planning for the big meal. If you're reading this site, we imagine wine for Thanksgiving is also on your mind.

Costco is a great place to stock up. We always put together this annual list for Thanksgiving, trying to highlight bottles that are still available in stores.

All of these wines we saw in Costco stores around the Atlanta area this past weekend.

Remember too that you can now use the new and very much improved Costco mobile app to search for inventory (of all things including wine).

The app is not perfect yet, but it's pretty good. It will miss some wines in some stores from our experience, so keep that in mind.

It also helps to search by the Costco item number that is included on the placard we always show and mention again at the end of every review.

So, let's get going.

The Thanksgiving meal has tons of different flavors. There's really no right or wrong in regards to wine pairing. We always say, try new things, have an assortment, keep an open mind, explore.

2021 Villa Sparina Gavi

This delicious Italian white is back in stores now, and remains $14.99. A nice, easy going white that should appeal to a wide range of people and palates. [our review]

2022 J de Villebois Pouilly-Fume

A delicious French Sauvignon Blanc that we reviewed earlier this year, but we are still seeing it in stores around us. It's $20 and we went 90 points. [our review]

2022 Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay

Rombauer Chardonnay

It's been a long time since we reviewed this one, but we went 91 points a few years back. Delicious Chardonnay from a top name in California wine. We've had the pleasure of visiting the winery, and they just produce consistently awesome wines.

Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne Yellow Label

Switching gears a bit. You can't go wrong with Champagne. We will definitely be serving bubbly all day long. The Kirkland Champagne is a solid choice for only $20. Of course, Veuve is another, but a bit more expensive, and climbing. Just a few years ago we bought it at Costco for $49. But there's a reason it's so popular [our review]

2023 Kirkland Signature Cotes du Rhone Villages

This next one is perfect if you have a large gathering. $7.69 a bottle. Buy a bunch and pour in a decanter (to hide the Kirkland label), and people will think you're serving them something way more expensive. [our review]

2017 Cune Gran Reserva Rioja

It's hard to believe this is still in stores. We figured once word got out, they would fly off shelves. This is stunningly good Rioja with a little age on it, and $20. 91 points from us, and a tasty pick for Thanksgiving [our review]

2021 Oregon Territory Pinot Noir

This is a Pinot Noir from Oregon that really surprised us. 93 points from Wine Enthusiast. 91 from us. $16. A great pick for Thanksgiving, and otherwise. [our review]

2022 Four Graces Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Another one of our favorite Pinots from Costco, and a wine that has graced this list a few times. Under $20, 91 points from us and a perfect complement to the big meal. [our review]

2021 Trimbach Riesling Alsace

We just reviewed this one earlier this month, but it's a perfect bottle for this list. Checks every box and is under $20. [our review]

That's our Thanksgiving wine list for 2024. If you want to check out prior years, here's 2023, 2022 and 2021.

Please put any of your recommendations in the comments below for everyone to see. Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers.
