2023 Kirkland Signature Pinot Grigio Friuli

We’ve skipped a couple vintages of this one. Not so much on purpose but rather it just seems to slide by the way side a bit.

But for what it is, and at this price point, we know quite a few readers who buy it often and really enjoy it. So we’re back after a couple years with the new 2023 vintage.

First piece of good news is the ridiculously low $4.99 price is staying the same. As we mentioned in our last review, this is one of those rare bottles actually going down in price (it was $5.99 a few years back).

Over the years, we’ve had a little bit of ride on this wine in terms of ratings.

As we’ve said in our last tasting notes, this wine is largely situational. On a super hot day, near water, chilled and when you’re thirsty, it is spot on. Pairing with a fancy meal, it might leave a little to be desired.

The wine pours almost clear with a slight straw tint; peachy, citrus fruit on the nose; it is medium in body with gentle flavor of white peach, green apple; light on the finish and pretty simple, yet pleasant throughout.

The price is certainly right, and this isn’t a bad one to stock up on for the warmer months. It’s an easy summer sipper, and we’re going to keep our score steady at 86 points.
