This is the first time reviewing this wine for the site but it is a bottle we've tasted and thoroughly enjoyed across multiple vintages.
It is always a classic expression of Napa Cabernet at a great price, and Costco really did us a favor bringing it in at $26.99.

A quick online search will show you a retail price around $47 which is the same as you will find at Wine.com. $27 is a steal for such a high quality Napa bottle.
The wine is a slight blend and the makeup is: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petite Sirah and 2% Petit Verdot. Almost every mainstream critic drops this bottle in the 90-93 point range over the past few vintages.
And we like it too. It's a medium ruby on the pour with dark fruit aromas; medium plus in body with nice acidity, gentle tannins; flavors of black cherry and blackberry surrounded by notes of vanilla; elegant finish.
This is a fantastic buy that Napa fans should scoop up by the case. We could drink this regularly and never grow tired of it.

There appears to be a bug in the Costco app. When I searched for this item number I got:
Chateau Pontet-Canet 2021 En Primeurs, 750ml Bottle CA ONLY.

I very much appreciate the reviews here, but find it frustrating that most of the wines covered are not available in the San Francisco area.
I conjectured that perhaps it was shipping cost. Why sell the European wines to California, when you can sell them on the East Coast? But now this nice Hess wine, which is bottled 60 miles from my home appears in Atlanta when I have yet to see it here in SF area. I’m befuddled. Does anyone know how Costco wine distribution works?

Interesting about the item number. For most searches of wine from this forum I receive "Item not found" but never had a different product return. I found it (out of stock to Low Stock) in NoVA stores at $29.89. I seem to recall Andrew noting something about the pricing end in "89" that means something?

Surprised to find this in Hawaii. Just at $34.89 😭

Wine-Searcher.com is the best app to find lowest prices for wine. I see several retailers with prices under $30.00 for this wine. So, yes it’s nice that Costco sells it for about $27. But if you can’t find it in your Costco check on Wine-Searcher youcan get it.
