Every time we see a Portuguese bottle hit Costco shelves we pick it up immediately. It might be the best "bang for the buck" region in the wine world today.
This bottle was a particularly fun find for us. We've reviewed a couple of this producer's less expensive bottles in the past, and they were just amazing for the money.

You can read those reviews here and here. The Colheita was memorable, and similar to this bottle in varietal makeup but at a lower price point of only $12. We scored that wine 91 points. This one is going to bump up a bit from there.
The wine is a blend of Touriga Nacional (45%) , Tinta Roriz (40%) and Touriga Franca (15%).

I posted this before but just for reference:
Tinta Roriz = Tempranillo. Touriga Nacional = Portuguese grape that can be likened to Cabernet Sauvignon. Touriga Franca = Portuguese grape that can be likened to Cabernet Franc.
Getting into the notes for this one, it pours an inky dark purple in the glass; vibrant aromas with deep dark fruit flavors of blackberry, plum; it is full bodied, rich and juicy, with some vanilla and oak into the big, lasting finish.
A gem from Portugal that red wine fans need to explore. Under $20, it's a tough one to beat. Hope we see more like this one down the line on Costco shelves.
