It's always an exciting day when the latest vintage of the Kirkland Oakville Cab hits stores, and we'll tell you right off the bat, this is a vintage not to be missed.
Despite all the inflationary pressures out there, the price on this wine remains $19.99, which is absolutely amazing for an Oakville wine, and for one of this caliber.
Looking at our reviews all the way back to the 2013 vintage, you see a string of 90+ points, making this one of our most consistent, and highest rated Kirkland wines in the entire portfolio.

And we're going to break some new ground this year, reaching our highest score ever for this bottle, and that's in large part to the amazing and long lasting finish.
Our tasting notes are similar in many ways to years past. It pours a dark ruby in the glass with earthy aromas and dark fruit; in the mouth this is a full bodied wine, with fantastic dark fruit flavor, some black cherry, blackberry, plum with notes of vanilla and spice towards the finish.
And then the finish that really grabs you and holds on. That's our favorite part of what is our favorite vintage of this great wine.
Don't wait to buy these in bulk if this is your style of wine. We have a feeling these are going to move fast once word gets out. Cheers, and thank you Costco.

Just picked up 3 bottles here in Charleston! Excited to try it and have enjoyed the previous vintages and even the Rutherford Signature Cab slightly more in previous vintages.

Tried it recently and found it pleasant but not as smitten as your review. Didn’t get the full fruit or long finish. Will try again and give it more air before drinking.

No sign of it yet in Wayne, NJ.

Our Warehouse just received a shipment and all I can say is that this wine is undrinkable. Flat, unidimensional plum with some dust. No spice, no complexity, alcohol, tannin, or other notes. It tasted more like unfermented, unsweetened, fruit juice. Either this is a lot control issue or the wine itself. Avoid.

@DocARDC,
Just uncorked another bottle and at least this one displayed some nose. Again demonstrated unidimensional plum followed by some soft tannins. Think a bottle of overpriced J. Lohr. Apart from being a marginal wine, there are some QC, shipping, or storage problems.

@DocARDC, I had the exact same experience. First bottle was flat and tasteless, second one seemed better, third one was spectacular. How is this possible, out of the same case, it looks like there are only two boxes at my store? Went back for more, all gone. Oh well, this one really needed to breath first.

Still waiting for this one in Hoover AL.
Stags Leap District is the best one in this series so far this year

Just finished the bottle. Thought it was great. Spot on review IMO. Going back for more tomorrow.

Oh I have to look and see if they have it here in SF, CA. I love the Oakville Napa Cabs. One of my favorite is the Educated Guess Oakville Reserve, the 2021 is on sale here right now at $26 instead of the list $40.
We also have the Beringer Knights Valley Cab for $23 which is also a great buy here in SF. The DAOU Cab for $20 is an amazing bottle at regular Costco price. You really ask yourself then why pay more. I saw they now have the 2022 vintage, which I haven't tried yet, but 2019 was amazing and 20/21 very god as well.
