It’s been a little while since we tasted and reviewed the Napa Sauvignon Blanc from Charles Krug.
The price has stayed the same at only $12.99, which combined with the quality of this juice, makes this a good value buy as we noted in our previous review.
Retail price looks to be closer to $20 but we found it at Total Wine for the same as Costco ($12.97). Suckling went 92 points on this vintage, and looking at ratings for previous vintages of this wine, it seems to consistently land in the low 90’s, which is impressive.
The wine inside is nicely balanced and pretty delicious all around. It pours on the clear side with a little yellow tint; aromas of tropical fruit and in the mouth, flavors of lemon, white peach and apple; a touch of grassiness but nowhere near what you find from New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs.
This is just a really fair buy, a good wine at a good price, and a clear summer winner. Not 90 points for us, but not too far off. Pair with sunshine and good friends.

As usual: SUCKling minus 5 points is about right.
I will keep my crusade to have other reviewers (like this blog) and more importantly, retailers, show more respect to their customers and avoid quoting or referencing this guy and the other Point Puffers" (Luca Maroni, Decanter, James Halladay, etc.)

@GBH-ATL, I applaud your crusade! I have the same issue with Dunnuck who consistently over rates Paso wines.
