Here's an interesting new Costco wine that instantly caught our eye. We are always on the lookout for new and different white wines from around the world, so this bottle fits the bill perfectly.
This is a blend of three grapes from the Saint Mont area in Gascogne in southwestern France: Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu, and Arrufiac, three grapes you don't hear about often, but they really come together nicely in this wine.
Costco's price was $12.99 which is really good considering we found it online at multiple outlets for $20-$22 a bottle.
The wine pours a medium yellow in the glass, with aromas of citrus fruit, and white flowers; it is medium in body with robust flavors of white peach, nectarine and apple. Lots going on with the different varietals but they are blended to perfection. Distinctive, lingering finish.
This is an outstanding wine at a great Costco price; it's one that we might stock up on for the summer months too because this would be (perhaps even more) delicious on a hot summer day.
